Since this week is Book Blogger Appreciation Week, and book bloggers were such an important part of how The Wednesday Sisters found an audience, I thought I’d take the opportunity to share a little book blogger love – and a little about how we hope to reach out to book bloggers for The Four Ms. Bradwells, which releases six months from Tuesday!
Not long after the blog buzz started for The Wednesday Sisters – with an April 24, 2008 post on Mrs. Magoo Reads – I started a new page on my website for “The Online Buzz,” linking to some of the blog posts. At the time, we were not getting much publicity for the book, and so the idea that my book was finding readers was incredibly exciting. The love that poured out for the book meant and still means more to me than you can imagine.
While I was on tour in the summer the book released, I got to meet some of the bloggers, including Trish from Hey Lady (to the right) and David from From My Bookshelf (that handsome guy at the top) – two wonderful people I am now lucky to call my friends.
And the connections keep coming: I was in Tucson this spring for the Tucson Book Festival, and Lesa of Lesa’s Book Critiques – who’d reviewed The Wednesday Sisters almost two years earlier – was there! (I’m doing something I never do, which is put up an absolutely dreadful photo of me, because it’s a nice memory I want to share.)
So for Book Blogger Appreciation Week I’d like to applaud all the bloggers who help spread the word about books they love. I do think it is transforming the way we find out about books. The Wednesday Sisters, including (in addition to those mentioned above) the early supporters:

If you blogged about the book to help spread the news – in hardcover or paperback – and I’ve missed you, please do post a link below and I’ll add you to my website page. And thank you!
So the plan for The Four Ms. Bradwells: we are definitely doing a blog tour! I’m already talking with Trish, who now makes a business of book blogging with TLC Book Tours. I’m putting together a list of bloggers I’m hoping Ballantine will send books to. And I’m enjoying a bit of prepublication quiet reading the blogs myself for what I should read next! – Meg
