I’ve spent most of my holiday shopping hours this year (as always) in bookstores. My giving bag includes old favorites (Andre Kertesz On Reading – with lovely photos of folks reading in the most unlikely places), and new (Brenda Rickman Vantrease’s The Heretics Wife; Tatjana Soli’s The Lotus Eaters). And I’ve just gotten the nicest book gift of sorts myself, forwarded to me from a Wednesday Sisters reader: my little novel is on Bookmovement’s list of the top 20 book club bestsellers for 2010 based on readers’ choices! The full list:
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson
Sarah’s Key by Tatiana de Rosnay
Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford
The Next Thing on My List by Jill Smolinski
Little Bee by Chris Cleave
A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick

The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton
Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson
A special holiday thank you to all the readers out there who have helped spread the Wednesday Sisters word. I’ve got my fingers crossed that, with your help, the new year will bring as happy a birth for The Four Ms. Bradwells, too. I hope to have a revamped website up early in January, and I’ll be offering an advanced reader giveaway to celebrate. I’m also cooking up a Twitter WriteChat with publishing industry folks. And I have some terrific guest authors and poets lined up for 2011 here on 1st Books. I hope you’ll continue to stop by, and that the new year will bring amazing things for your own writing lives.
Merry Christmas!
Meg
