This week’s pre-publication taks: finalize press release materials and tour details. I had a lovely chat with Lisa Barnes from Random House about book tour cities and travel details, among other things. We finalized a lovely press release and cover letter for The Four Ms. Bradwells (really, when I read this stuff I think my friends won’t recognize me, but my mom always has said I clean up nicely), and answered questions for a Conversation with the Author. I’m busily answering interview questions and the like for book bloggers, too, and delighted to see the book showing up on anticipated books lists.
Then there is the website! It’s done! Isn’t Ilsa Brink an artist?! I love love love the new page backgrounds, which are different for each book. The one for The Language of Light is from our old horse farm in Baltimore.
My favorite Four Ms. Bradwell pages are the “button pages” (sort of like the character button pages for The Wednesday Sisters):

Pearls, Pearls, Pearls – Mia, Laney, Betts, and Ginger all share a lovely strand of pearls, so I’ve shared a bit about my own pearls and the stories behind them (and too many photos of me, but look at the pearls!). If you have a pearl story and are willing to share, do let me know.
There is also a Book Group Page (yes, those are my pearls, set on my scanner), much like the one we did for The Wednesday Sisters (which is still on the site), with links to the button pages, a reading guide, and the like, and to an intro that includes a very goofy photo of me in my navy blue interview suit, from my first year of law school. Do I look any older than twelve?
We think we’re done with everything but the Book Group and Reader pages for The Language of Light, so if you see anything unfinished or needing correction, give me a shout!
And if you need a web designer, Ilsa Brink ROCKS! But you can’t have her until we’ve finished the Language pages.
Book tour details still in the works. More in the coming days but I think most of the schedule is now up! Do come! And wear your pearls! I’m already deciding which of mine I’ll wear, and may even bring some loaners for folks to try (but NOT take home). – Meg
