Today kicks off National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and as any of you who have heard me speak about The Wednesday Sisters knows, my mom is a survivor, and my grandmother died in her early 50s of the disease. The best defense against the disease is early detection, so if you are someone who ought to be getting mammograms and haven’t yet this year, please do it now.
I’m trying to put together a list of novels that take on the subject of breast cancer. Help me out? I’m looking for wonderful books like Eleanor Brown’s The Weird Sisters (which Penguin has included in it’s “Read Pink” program to support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation®).
