Sundog Books, Seaside FL

the books aren’t shelved alphabetically, but the booksellers can find you anything

We can do silly faces anywhere, but it’s more fun surrounded by books!

Okay, Sundog Books wins hands down for the most fun ever had in a bookstore. Maybe it was the fact that the books aren’t shelved alphabetically–and still the booksellers can find you anything you want! Or maybe we were just in a whacky mood. But we had so much fun at this store…every time we went in!
We were only in Seaside for a long weekend, but we bought books, and read them, and bought more books. Laney was incredibly helpful, pointing us to what the kids might like based on what they told her they loved. That is what the best booksellers do, isn’t it?

And Erik found my books, so I could sign them, and put them at the front of the store with a nice sticker on them.
Really, that is one of the things I love about independent booksellers. I love to have autographed books.

Not going home empty-handed!

Sadie Page Clayton won the gold medal reader award and … this is the most fun part … also got a journal. She wrote a poem in it when she got home–about swimming; she is an extraordinary swimmer–and she read it aloud with her dad recording it and sent it to me. It made me about as proud as could be!
So when Sadie Page Clayton is a famous poet, you can say it all started at SunDog Books. – Meg
