I love this poem, Meg. I wrote an lyric essay after reading it a few years ago, based on this part:

“How do you learn to spell?
    Blood, sky & the sun,
    your own name first,
your first naming, your first name,
    your first word.”

Like Teri, I also love the last part of the poem. It is true in the case of most people, right?
