How a Novel Gets Published: 2nd Printing! (Before publication!)

The Four Ms. Bradwells is going into a second printing eight days before it even comes out. I would explain how this happens if I knew, but I don’t. I just know it’s very good news. It comes on the heels of a lovely piece yesterday which calls it “a thriller of a whodunit, a tender love story among friends.”

The piece goes on to say

“… when the story ends at a not-too-distant point in the future, there is a clear line of sight between the Court of Bradwell and Bradley and that of Ledbetter and Sotomayor. Don’t let that scare you, though. Did I mention the mystery and tenderness? They are tremendous. And the brains—oh, the brains!”

Someone who shall remain nameless to protect the guilty-but-very-supportive suggested I claim it was in the New York Times. “When the truth is discovered,” he said, “you’ll get even more publicity.” But it was actually written by Leah DuMouchel for AnnArbor.com. – Meg
