E.B. White and Friedrich Nietzsche on Writing and Friends … and Please Share Links to Your Writer-Pals

I was just about to tweet the E.B. White quote “It is not often that someone comes along who is a true friend and a good writer” with thanks to some of my writer-pals. But in the process, I realized that I have far too many good writer pals to even begin to list them in 140 characters, even when I limit them to the ones who tweet. Which did leave me reconsidering the quote!

So I’d like to offer instead a Friedrich Nietzsche quote – “A good writer possesses not only his own spirit but also the spirit of his friends.” – with thanks to all my friends whose spirits I aspire to possess. Many of my Bay Area writer pals are listed on the page here tabbed “Writer Pals,” but I’d like to give a special shout out to my two best writer-pals, Brenda Rickman Vantrease and Mac Clayton.

If you have a friend who writes (published or not) and would like to be a good friend to them, please post a link to their websites or blogs in the comments below! – Meg
