A Writing Contest Worth Considering

I’m not generally a big fan of writing contests with fees, but I just learned about the 1st Annual WNBA National Writing Contest. Small fee ($15 for non-members), great judges (Orange Prize winner Valerie Martin for fiction, current Poet Laureate for Louisiana, Julie Kane, for poetry). And a 90+ year old organization (full disclosure: to which I belong) sponsoring the award. Proceeds go to support scholarships for writing conferences and other professional development training. – Meg
