Fingers Crossed!
This video comes compliments of Judy Merril Larsen, and though it doesn’t fall under literary or books, for me (celebrating 40 years as a Cubs fan) it is inspirational. For the non-Cubs-fans reading this (and the Cubs fans, too), do come back tomorrow. I’ve got a very special guest-posting team: bestselling author, poet, and essayist Elizabeth Rosner (if you haven’t read her award-winning novels The Speed of Light and Blue Nude or her poetry collection, Gravity, now is the time!) AND Dan Smetanka, former Executive Editor at Ballantine/Random House, where he acquired and published a number of award winning debut writers, including Rosner and another of my favorite authors, Dan Chaon. They’ll be blogging about the process of bringing a book to print, and I can tell you it is an inspiring – and literary – story. – Meg

I just picked up one of Dan Chaon’s books, You Remind Me of Me. I had never heard of him before, but it looks interesting. Glad to hear he’s one of your favourites!

Hi Meg, great to get to know your blog.
I stumbled upon it in search of Dan Smetanka who, years ago, bought my (Dutch) debut novel and is now (as I figure) an editor.
If you have any means to get in touch with him (cell, e-mail), would you be so kind to send it to me? I would appreciate it, it was great working with him then.
Best regards from Amsterdam.
